Welcome to Ta‘ Giljan, a wonderfully spacious, contemporary B&B designed in traditional Gozitan farmhouse style, complete with beautiful terraces, glittering pool, and stylish bedrooms for the best possible living experience. Perched high above the lush green valley of Xaghra, the farmhouse’s views are simply mesmerising and include the Parish of Xaghra, the Cittadella Victoria , and the famous is-Salvatur statue overlooking the fishing town of Marsalforn.
All rooms have lovely views and are brightly lit by the natural Mediterranean light, making Ta‘ Giljan a modern holiday getaway with a timeless Gozitan soul.
Designed for good living
Guests particularly enjoy the large well-appointed living area* on the pool deck level, with its great views of the valley, and super-comfortable sofa. This is where your included continental breakfast – a mix of buffet and hot dishes with tea, coffee, or fruit juice – is available from 8:30 to 10:00. Alternatively for a small charge you can have breakfast brought to your room.
*Access to the living area is from 8:30 to 19:30.
Excellent location
The farmhouse is easily accessible by bus from the ferry, or the capital Victoria. Beaches, including Marsalforn and the red sands of Ramla, are within walking distance. Also a short stroll away, is the charming traditional Gozitan village of Xaghra. Among its many attractions are the ancient solar temples of Ggantija, a UNESCO World Heritage site, a Windmill folklore museum, and a Toy museum. A must-visit is the traditional bakery Tal-Furnar, where you can treat yourself to local bread and Gozo’s famous closed pizza made with potatoes and cheese.
Meet your hosts
Hi Guests, my name’s Ornella. I own and run the B&B together with Giuliano, my cat. As you can tell, I’m Italian… I love animals, great food, and making people feel at home.
I’m also practically Gozitana, having worked in some of Gozo’s best hospitality and catering establishments for the past decade. That’s what led me to opening my hospitality business. I thought, why not share my love for Gozo with guests? Tell them all the great places to visit? Then I thought, why not use all my industry experience from Italy and Gozo? Create something of my own with a goal of being known as one of the most welcoming, best-located, and most stylish B&Bs in Gozo? Feedback from guests tells me Ta ‘Giljan is already a success and I couldn’t be happier.
So I look forward to welcoming you to Ta‘ Giljan. Of course, Giuliano will insist on meeting you, if he’s not off sleeping in one of the farmhouse’s cool green spaces.
